Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Kinsaver covering your use of the Kinsaver app and website. By creating an account you accept them. We've kept them short and in plain language — please actually read them.
What Kinsaver is — and isn't
Kinsaver is a family education tool: a virtual bank that parents run for their children to teach earning, saving, spending, and giving.
- No real money ever moves through Kinsaver. Balances, allowances, interest, loans, and gifts are entries in a virtual ledger with no monetary value outside your family's own arrangements.
- Kinsaver is not a bank, a payment service, an investment platform, or a financial adviser. Nothing in the app — including the Money School lessons, rates, and calculators — is financial advice.
- Any exchange of real money, pocket money, or goods between you and your children happens entirely outside the app and is your own responsibility.
Your account
Accounts are created and owned by a parent or legal guardian (the account holder). You must be at least 18 to create an account and you're responsible for everything that happens under your family's account.
Child logins are created, configured, and revocable by you. Children use the app under your supervision and permission; you confirm you're their parent or legal guardian.
Keep your password and your children's passcodes safe. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
Trial and subscription
Kinsaver starts with a free trial. After the trial, continued use requires an active subscription (or an activation granted by us during the pre-launch period). We'll always show pricing clearly before you're asked to pay, and we'll never charge you silently.
If your trial ends and you don't subscribe, your family's data is kept for a reasonable period so you can pick up where you left off, and can be deleted on request at any time.
Fair use
- Don't attempt to access other families' data, probe or overload the service, or reverse-engineer the app.
- Don't use the app to store unlawful content or to harass anyone (including via gift messages or notes).
- Gift links and invite links are capabilities: anyone holding one can use it. Share them only with people you trust, and regenerate or disable them if they leak.
Your content
Names, notes, goals, and other content you enter stay yours. You give Kinsaver permission to store and process them purely to run the service for your family — nothing else.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Kinsaver at any time and ask us to delete your family's account and data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, abuse the service, or create risk for other users — we'll tell you why unless the law prevents us.
Disclaimers and liability
Kinsaver is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it reliable and your data safe, but we can't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Because Kinsaver never holds real money, the most important thing we could lose is your family's virtual ledger — and we protect it with backups and database-level isolation. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
If we make meaningful changes we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.
